We are beginning to use SOLO as a way of reflecting on work completed in class.
SOLO Taxonomy is a way of thinking. It involves Prestructural , Unistructural, Multistructural, Relational and Extended Abstract ways of thinking.
Our school is using hand signals to show the different levels of thinking so we can remember them and talk about how we think. Parents, ask your son or daughter to show you these and ask them what they mean.
In the classroom we have a class display and there are pocket size displays of SOLO Taxonomy on each table.
It has been a wonderful way to help children talk about their learning and to hear them talk about what they need to do to shift their thinking forward.
